Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her across Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta currently, she is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician, singing and playing in the church in town. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music on the city's R&B scene. In 2005, she was commissioned to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choir leader of the production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of America during the daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
