Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was who was born within Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder is a Jew. Ryder believes that her father had a Jewish family. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder's parents moved her and their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. There was no electricity. Ryder became an avid book reader because there was no television. Ryder was enrolled in acting classes when Ryder was 12years old at the American Conservatory Theatre. When she was 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role on screen, in Lucas. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Ryder believed that if she became an actor her behaviour would be changed. However, the plan didn't pan out. The actress continued to chase her dreams. She got her break through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue playing roles that were successful in various films. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Award for The Age of Innocence.
